President of the republic and minister of defense at the United Nations
Past Thursday and Friday, March 28 and 29, president of the republic Borut Pahor attended the High Level session of the UN General Assembly entitled: "Climate Change and Sustainable Development for All.
In his statement he called for immediate action against climate change and echoed the calls of young generation that demand this action.

The same day he was a guest at the lunch hosted by the President of the General Assembly and had various bilateral meetings, among others with the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in the President of the General Assembly Ms. Maria Fernanda Espinosa.
He attended the opening of the photo exhibition on the twenty years of Slovenia's commitment to humanitarian mine action. The exhibition is opened from March 25 to April 5 in the UN General Assembly Building.
On Friday, March 29, minister of defense Karl Erjavec participated at the Peacekeeping Ministerial meeting, where in his statement he reconfirmed Slovenian support for the reform of the peacekeeping, spoke about the role of women in the armed forces and peacekeeping operations and expressed support for the implementation of all peacekeeping resolutions.
Slovenia is in its activities focused on prevention, human security, respect of international law and human rights.
Minister attended the opening of the above mentioned exhibition and had several bilateral meetings, among others with the UN Undersecretary for Peace Operations Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix.
State Secretary at the Foreign Ministry, who accompanied the president during his visit , spoke at the Security Council open debate on the prevention of the financing of terrorism.
